About Meenakaari

Woven with Love. Rooted in Heritage.

"Meenakaari began in 2016 with a mother and daughter's shared love for fashion, Tamil culture, and the timeless beauty of South Indian traditions"

What started as a passion gradually became a journey into the world of silk, craftsmanship, and the stories woven into every saree. For us, a saree has always been more than a garment. It is a part of our identity, a celebration of our roots, and a tradition passed down through generations.

Our Journey to Kanchipuram

Journey to the Loom

Our journey took us time and again to Kanchipuram, a town whose name is synonymous with the rich heritage of silk weaving.

Connecting with the Artisans

There, we built relationships with weavers, learned about their craft, listened to their stories, and gained a deeper appreciation for the patience, skill, and dedication behind every handwoven saree.

Honoring the Heritage

We came to understand that every saree carries more than threads and zari. It carries the knowledge of generations, the hard work of skilled artisans, and the livelihood of the families who keep this craft alive.

Crafting a Purposeful Future

We wanted to do more than bring beautiful sarees to our customers. We wanted to build meaningful relationships with weavers, help generate orders for their work, and contribute to the families behind the craft.

Built on Trust, Grown Through Relationships

Our earliest customers were Indian women living abroad, particularly those who wanted to stay connected to their roots through traditional silk sarees.

For many, choosing an authentic silk saree from miles away was not always easy. They needed someone they could trust — someone who could guide them, understand their preferences, and help them make a meaningful investment in a saree they would cherish.

We built our relationships one customer at a time, through personal attention, honest guidance, and a genuine understanding of what each saree meant to the person choosing it.

We grew through word of mouth, without relying on advertising. Every recommendation and returning customer became a reminder that trust is the most valuable thing a brand can earn.

That trust remains at the heart of everything we do.

Meenakaari — Weaving Heritage.

Pure handwoven silk that bridges generations, honoring the hands that weave and the women who carry the heritage forward.

The Story Behind The House of Anjii

As our relationships with customers grew, so did their needs. Alongside sarees, they wanted beautifully embroidered blouses, personalised designs, and garments tailored to their individual style.

That demand became the foundation for The House of Anjii — a fashion house built around customisation, craftsmanship, and the belief that what you wear should feel uniquely yours.

Over time, we grew to embrace both the timelessness of traditional textiles and the creativity of personalised fashion.

Today, Meenakaari and The House of Anjii share the same roots, values, and commitment to craftsmanship, while each celebrates a distinct expression of our vision.

More Than a Saree

Meenakaari is our dedicated space for pure handwoven silk sarees, bringing together the beauty of traditional craftsmanship and the significance of the occasions for which these sarees are chosen.

We believe heritage should not be confined to the past. It should be worn, celebrated, cherished, and passed on.

Our purpose is to honour the artisans behind every weave, encourage a more thoughtful approach to fashion, and help preserve the traditions that make South Indian textiles so special.

Every saree represents a connection between the artisan and the wearer, between generations, and between where we come from and what we choose to carry forward.

Weaving Heritage

From a mother and daughter's shared passion in 2016 to the journey Meenakaari continues today, our story has always been about people as much as it has been about sarees.

The hands that weave them. The families who preserve the craft. The women who wear them. And the memories that live on long after an occasion has passed.

We are proud of where our journey began, grateful for the trust that has brought us this far, and committed to keeping the beauty of our heritage alive for generations to come.
